My Reflections from 2015

My Reflections from 2015

I have three spiritual guidelines I have always found to prove true. One of those truisms is that no matter how you think God will do it, that is probably exactly how God won't. Thus, I have found it best not to predict God, the Universe, the Ultimate Reality, or whatever you call the big picture thingy. 2015 indelibly proved that saying to me. I started teaching my philosophy of Self-Compassionate Living at a small trade school, and I met the woman who would become my life partner. I also noticed my "need" for writing diminished considerably. I suspect I was coming into my voice to explain the journey of creating authenticity.
Mindfulness, to me, is simply knowing what motivations I have going in my brain. In other words, why am I behaving, thinking, or feeling the way I am?
I think it was said best in John 8:32, "Seek the truth, and the truth will set you free."

My Reflections

Reflections are a way we can see ourselves. We can see our thoughts, our emotions, and our actions if we look closely. I teach Awareness as an essential tool we have to create a meaningful and peaceful life. I feel I need to practice what I preach. So, I occasionally work out my observations through writing, and when I think I’ve made some critical insights, I post it. It is a form of accountability for me.

In my previous career, I was a record producer, and I would tell the artists that I worked with that “there is nothing like an audience to teach you how to play in front of an audience.” In a way, posting these reflections are my audience. These pages are a way I can work out my thoughts, observations, and insights, and maybe you and I can both grow through them. Ram Dass said, “We are all just walking each other home.” These pages are where I work out my offerings to that journey we are all on. Thank you for joining me and for inviting me to join you.

If you would like to chat further about something you read here, please write to me using this form.

May you grow from these writings as much as I have.
